WiFi, ZigBee battle on Smart Grid

The proliferation of electronic devices and appliances in homes and their impact on the efficiency and cost of smart-grid electrical power has given rise to a public debate over whether Wi-Fi or ZigBee represents the most energy-efficient way to deal with the situation.
On one side is General Electric, which argues that ZigBee is more energy efficient than Wi-Fi. On the other side, the Wi-Fi Alliance maintains that "Wi-Fi offers unsurpassed capabilities for the smart grid" and that GE's recent study hailing ZigBee "is flawed, resulting in inaccurate findings." The Wi-Fi Alliance on Monday released its rejoinder to GE's early December white paper.
In its report, a team of GE engineers and technicians from the appliances and lighting units studied Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and ZigBee solutions to determine which of the existing technologies would best minimize the energy impact of homae energy networks. The GE team dismissed Bluetooth quickly, arguing that its limited range made it unsuitable for home networking of appliances and other products.
In comparing Wi-Fi with ZigBee, GE said it found that components for ZigBee-based devices were less expensive than Wi-Fi components. In addition, the GE investigators said ZigBee's mesh networking capability resulted in energy savings as did other features of the ZigBee standard.
The GE team argued that overall home network energy cost savings for ZigBee over Wi-Fi would result in theoretical annual savings of USD 315 million based on an assumed population of 750 million devices.
In its release rebutting the GE findings, the Wi-Fi Alliance said the GE investigators based their findings in part on older, less efficient Wi-Fi technology that has been upgraded since the GE report was issued.

pytha technology

1. 2D REVOLVE
2D revolve is a function that successively develops all faces of a part into XZ view. Their relative position remains unchanged which means that in 2D each face lies adjacent to its original neighbors in 3D. 2D revolve is an interactive function. The user may specify the order of development if he wants to take influence
A shell can be developed with only a few mouse clicks, as e.g. the conical front of this counter. The result may be used as a template or may be passed on to a CNC machine.
2. NESTING
The parts you have laid flat can be arranged for cutting optimization. PYTHA‘s cutting optimization calculates the best possible arrangement of rectangular or arbitrarily shaped parts on pre-defined boards. The cutting optimization can be controlled to suit various needs: minimum use of material, grain direction, saw cut optimization or free form optimization.
3. ASSOCIATIVE SECTIONS
Thanks to the associative sectioning 2D drawings will be automatically derived from any 3D models. The 2D section remains associated with the 3D model, which means that each change of your 3D objects automatically becomes visible in the appropriate sections. In addition: you may generate any number of sections and views. Simply define the sectioning plane and the viewing direction, the rest is automatically done by PYTHA. Yet the best is still to come: PYTHA automatically adds text, dimensioning and hatching according to your settings. All sectioning attributes may be edited any time.
4.FREE FORM SURFACE
Modulated Profile
Revolve
Coons and Bezier
Loft
Subdivision Surfaces
Sweep
and others…
5. LINES AND ARCS
The PYTHA modeller allows an automatic arc analysis, which converts arbitrarily shaped free outlines (like Ellipse, Splines, or even vectorized objects) into straight lines and real circular arcs. Each outline or face which goes to the CNC machine will come out precise and flawless and can be milled, sawed or cut out with lasers. Therefore you don‘t have to do any more postprocessing of curves and ellipses on your own!

pc maintanence

Once you bring your personal computer home from the store or receive it in the mail there is no one around to offer basic personal computer maintenance tips for cleaning up and improving performance of your computer. Maintenance and cleaning up of your PC should be part of a regular routine to ensure that you don’t have any long-term problems with the computer. Unfortunately most basic computer users may not understand the mechanics of a computer or may feel intimidated with the maintenance. There are really simple steps anyone can take to ensure that your computer will continue working at the level it did when you first pulled it out of the box.
One of the first files to become acquainted with on your computer is the System Tools, located under the Start Menu, then Programs, and Accessories. The System Tools houses basic maintenance tools like Disk Defragmenter, Disk Cleanup, Backup, Scheduled Tasks, and System Information and ScanDisk on some Microsoft Windows computers. Strange that these files are located in Accessories because they really are the key to keeping your system running correctly and helping to improve performance as the computer ages.
On a regular basis you want to go to My Computer and then right click on the Local Disk (C Drive) and open up the Properties. This allows you to see how much space you are using and how much you have left to use on your computer. Under Tools in this area you can usually perform a scan of the disk. If you cannot run a disk scan from here, your Microsoft should have a disk scan available under the System Tools. It is important to run this disk scan to determine if there are any errors or problems running on your computer and the disk scan will repair those potential problems. Some experts recommend doing a thorough disk scans the first time and then a basic disk scan up to once a week to keep your computer performing at top conditions.
After this it is important to regularly perform a disk cleanup, which is located either under Properties under the C Drive, or under System Tools. Be aware that both the disk scan and the disk cleanup can take quite a bit of time and it is best to before these maintenance tools when you will not be using the computer. Set a routine with yourself like performing the disk clean up and disk scan on Saturday night while you are watching movies with your family. After a disk cleanup, it also helps to regularly perform a disk defragmentation. A computer hard drive will begin to fragment over time, which means that programs that once worked in conjunction have become separated over time and may not be in the proper place to work well on your computer. This can slow down processes or make using certain programs difficult. Using the disk defragmenter can pull together those pieces again and return things to working order.

computer details

Get Your Computer Details
Want to figure out all your computer specifications? Stuff like CPU speed, RAM, Hard Drive space, screen resolution, etc? It’s actually not as easy as it should be. Maybe I’m missing something, but as far as I can tell, you have to go to separate areas in Windows to figure this it out.
RAM & Windows Version -
Right-click My Computer and select Properties or manage. In the manage button view details about the devices connect to the system. click the computer The screen that pops up will give you info on what version of Windows you’re running and how much RAM is currently installed in the machine.
Hard Drive Space -
Open My Computer , right-click the C: drive, and select Properties from the resulting menu. You’ll get a handy little Pie chart that gives you used and available HD space.
Screen Resolution -
Right-click the Windows Desktop and select Properties . Hit the Settings tab on the resulting screen. You’ll see your resolution and color depth listed there.
CPU Speed -
Windows XP will actually give you this if you right-click My Computer, Properties . However, older versions of Windows won’t give you the slightest hint as to the CPU speed. then we call a systems engineer. No need to call system engineer.just open enclosure and then removing the RAM and then type of RAM to use the system to begin to work on your system.
After trying this method, the system does not just start and then call the system engineer.

computer problems

In computer there are many problems arising every day. These problems are very simple and easy one to resolve.
some of the problems are listed below
1. cd rom present inside the cd drive when power is off
2. some time the system should not start
the solution for the 1 st problem is use one single needle to get cd outside.
By using this needle inject into the small whole present in the cd drive. the whole present below the cd led
press the cd drive button and the inject the needle into the whole the cd come out. use this step i use this method when power cut occurs
2 nd problem sometime the system should not log on or start. at that time we calling one system engineer. No need for calling system engineer.just open cabinet and then remove the RAM  and then insert the RAM use this method then start working with your system.
After trying this method the system should not start then only call the system engineer.
